Pattaya police were notified on the evening of 22nd December that the body of a young boy had been seen floating in the sea near the Naklua pier area. Together with Sawang Boriboon volunteers they rushed to the scene. The body was seen by a fisherman who said he tried to retrieve it from the water but the current was too powerful and it disappeared into the murky depths. A while later, a Thai couple came to the scene, clearly in distress, who stated that the body might be that of their missing son who hadn’t returned home after playing at the nearby canal. Police organised a boat search to try finding the boy but after an hour had to call the search off until the next day as it was getting too dark.
