Banglamung police were contacted by Sawang Boriboon volunteers on the evening of the 3rd February that a fatal road accident involving the rider of a bike colliding with a truck had occurred off Pattanakarn Road. At the scene, they found a damaged Honda Wave and the body of an unknown Thai man, aged about 35-40 years. Also at the scene were a Toyota Sports Rider and the driver, later identified as Petty Officer 1st Class Khun Sayun Songkarn, who stated that he was driving along the road when the bike came out of a side road at high speed and cut in front of him, causing the collision. The body was taken away and the driver made for the police station to make a statement about the incident.
